Effect of longitudinal end effect on the operation of linear induction machines without compensating elements

A. I. Vol'dek - A. A. Mikirtichev - N. A. Soldatenkova - E. V. Tolvinskaya

Abstract
The graphical dependences of the magnetic induction, the current density of the secondary medium, the impedances of the equivalent circuit, and the electromagnetic efficiency on the magnetic Reynolds number are investigated on the basis of one-dimensional theory of linear induction machines without compensating elements. The Reynolds number is determined from the reference velocity of the secondary medium, the number of poles in the machine, and the slip. The influence of the longitudinal end effect on the operation of an uncompensated machine is estimated.
