Abstract
Relaxation equations are formulated for a dipole fluid in an external field on the basis of the concept of partial equilibrium. These phenomenological equations are used to consider the flow of a ferrosol along capillaries in an external magnetic field. The magnetoviscous effect is interpreted physically. A study is made of the perturbed motion of a dipole fluid in the case offlow around a translationally moving ion as a result of perturbation of the polarization of the medium by the hydrodynamic velocity field. The magnetoviscous effect in suspensions of rod-shaped ferromagnetic particles is discussed. Magnitnaya Gidrodinamika 10, No. 4, 3-18, 1974 [PDF] (in Russian)
