Abstract
Surface instability of magnetic fluid in a.c. homogeneous oblique magnetic field is considered. It is shown that at finite value of the magnetic relaxation time surface instability is oscillatory and arises with the development of travelling waves. For different inclination angles of the field the critical magnetic Bond number and frequency of the arising surface waves are calculated depending on the wavenumber of surface perturbations.
