Abstract
The paper discusses the relationship of heat intensity and melt stirring in high-frequency electromagnetic fields and the parameters of a device, at which a compromise is achieved between the required values of heating and melt stirring. In particular, the paper analyzes a possibility to exchange the pulsating HF magnetic field, traditionally applied to heat the melt, for a travelling electromagnetic field. It is shown that both technological functions -- heating and strong stirring of the melt -- can be achieved in one device at optimal values of the travelling electromagnetic field frequency. A method for calculating the parameters is proposed, which allows to consider approximately the finite dimensions of the vessel and the inductor for different technologies of single crystal growth.
