Abstract
Metal matrix composite materials are a class of materials with improved mechanical, thermal and radiation resistance properties. They are used in several specific applications in nuclear and energy industry. Also, there are different applications due to improved wear resistance and mechanical strength. Best materials are those with very fine (nano-scaled) particles which are evenly distributed and fully dispersed inside the metal matrix. Such materials are difficult to produce, because separation and dispersion of small particles is a complicated task. Our research is aimed at investigating possibilities to use a strong electromagnetic, contactless interaction to disperse particles in liquid metal alloys. Tables 1, Figs 3, Refs 13.
