Flow of an electrically conducting fluid in a constant magnetic field for a power law dependence of the velocity distribution over the gap

Abstract
An empirical formula is proposed for the velocity profile in a channel In rhe presence of a magnetic field. Hydraulic losses are calculated in this case not from the hydraulic, but from the energy relations by determining the Joule losses from the velocity profile found experimentally. Figs 4, Refs 4.
