Modeling the motion of molten metal in an induction furnace

Abstract
It is shown that at the velocities and frequencies characteristic of induction furnaces it is possible to neglect the effects of the motion of the molten metal on the fields and currents in it. A complete system of similarity criteria is derived. A method of deriving the similarity criteria that increases their reliability in approximate modeling is presented. Some particular cases are considered. Figs 1, Refs 3.
