Calculation of the head taking account of the effect of the higher three-dimensional harmonics of the magnetic field

Abstract
A solution is given to the two-dimensional problem of an electromagnetic field, for the purpose of determining the head developed by an induction-type magnetohydrodynamic pump with a separate magnetic conductor, taking account of higher three-dimensional harmonics. The normal component of the magnetic induction at the surface of the channel of the pump is given in accordance with the "rectangle" law, corresponding to the structure of the magnetic conductor. An expression for the head of the pump is obtained and analyzed. It is shownthat, in some cases, the effect of the higher three-dimensional harmonics is considerable. The effect decreases with the approach of the elements of the magnetic field of the pump.
