Ratio method of liquid-metal flow rate measurement

V. E. Tsirkunov - R. K. Kalnin' - E. K. Rybakov

Abstract
A noncontacting flow rate meter is described employing a pulsed field magnetic inductor. The flow rate of liquid metal is determined from the ratio of the velocity and eddy-current signals due to the secondary magnetic field. The mean-square error of flow rate measurements does not exceed 2.5% even if the electrical conductivity of the measured medium varies up to 30%.
