Relationship between the parameters of an independently excited hydromagnet

Abstract
The article investigates an independently excited hydromagnet; it describes the mechanism of the formation of the electrical field and, in particular, of the useful current in this device. The coefficient of the power losses and the optimal value of the height of the channel are calculated; the optimal values of the Stewart number are found with respect to the minimum value of the required power per unit of the intensity of the magnetic field at the center of the magnet.
