Abstract
A system of three disks seated on a common axis with the space between them filled with a liquid metal is considered. The middle disk rotates. The entire system is situated in a longitudinal uniform magnetic field. The system of equations is written which allows the laws governing the variation of the potentials and currents in disks and in the liquid--metal layer to be found, as well as the law governing the variation of the velocity in the liquid--metal layer. The solution is found on the assumption that the potentials are independent of the axial coordinate both in the disks and in the liquid--metal layer.
