On exact solutions of the equations of magnetogasdynamics

Abstract
We study plane steady adiabatic flows of an ideal plasma in a magnetic field whose lines of force coincide with the streamlines. The equations of motion are written down in the hodograph plane in a form similar to Chaplygin's equations. We investigate exact solutions for these equations corresponding to a helical flow, flow around an edge, outflow from an infinite vessel, and flow in a nozzle. We discuss in detail the question of limit lines on which the streamlines have a cuspidal point.
