Abstract
The induction pump discussed in this paper has an open magnetic circuit and compensated pulsating electric and magnetic fields in the central part of the wound zone. A particular winding is used to demonstrate that the pump parameters are very much dependent on the choice of the compensating elements. It is shown for three types of windings providing traveling magnetic and electric fields in the gap that the effects of the secondary circuit are small compared with the effects of the uncompensated secondary winding.
