Characteristics of a flat induction pump for nonuniform distribution of electromagnetic forces over the channel width

Abstract
The velocity profiles and p(Q) characteristics of MHD machines are calculated allowing for local slip and nonuniform distribution of the electromagnetic forces over the width of the channel. The theoretical calculations are in satisfactory accord with experimental results. It is shown that calculations in which electromagnetic and hydraulic processes are simultaneously taken into account give best agreement with experimental data.
