Effect of the constriction of a flow by a cylinder on the local resistance in a transverse magnetic field

Abstract
It has been observed experimentally that, with an increase in the diameter of a cylinder, creating a constriction of a flow, the value of the relative coefficient of the local resistance in a transverse magnetic field rises nonmonotonically. The article demonstrates the possibility of correlating the dependences of the relative value of the local resistances, at different degrees of constriction, on a parameter of the magneto hydrodynamic interaction, calculated from the diameter of the cylinder and from the mean mass flow rate in the live cross section of the constricted part of the channel.
