Hydrodynamic stability of plane flows of a conducting, dilatant fluid in a transverse magnetic field

K. B. Pavlov

Abstract
The hydrodynamic stability of plane, laminar flow of a conducting, dilatant fluid moving in an infinite lamina in a transverse magnetic field is investigated. It is found that such a flow is characterized by the formation of a finite zone in which tangential shear stresses are localized. Curves for neutral stability are obtained.
