Contribution to the theory of conduction rotation of a conducting fluid in a cylindrical vessel

Abstract
The azimuthal velocity distribution in a cylindrical vessel of finite length and filled with a conducting fluid is investigated. The azimuthal flow pattern is excited by a uniform magnetic field and by a nonunifonn electric field. The optimum electromagnetic and geometrical characteristics of the flow pattern are found.
