Wavy flow conditions of a thin film of a conducting liquid in a transverse magnetic field

Abstract
This paper discusses the motion of thin films of conducting viscous liquids flowing along an inclined nonconducting wall in a transverse magnetic field with a constant tangential stress applied to the free surface of the film. A solution is given on the basis of the asymptotic method of "narrow bands"; profiles of the waves arising on the free surface of the films are obtained as a function of the values of the determining parameters of the problem.
