Elliptical jets

Abstract
In a transverse magnetic field a study was made of three-dimension:al jet flow with an arbitrary elliptical initial velocity distribution in a transverse cross section. It is shown that a jet with any arbitrary initial profile degenerates into an elliptical profile, elongated in the direction of the magnetic field, and that the attenuation of the jet takes place algebraically with a rise in the value of the parameter of the magnetohydrodynamic interaction, in distinction from the exponential attenuation of flat jets.
