Measurement of electromagnetic repulsive force acting on a vertical conducting plate

A. B. Kapusta - T. S. Trunova - V. I. Litvinov - N. G. Titarenko

Abstract
A device for measuring the integral electromagnetic repulsive force acting on a vertical conducting plate with bicylindrical symmetry is described. The device operates on the principle of compensation of the moment of the integral electromagnetic repulsive force by the moment of the force deforming a flexible plate which returns the conducting plate to its initial position and registration of the deflection by a light spot on a scale. The experimental relationship between the integral repulsive force acting on the vertical conducting plate and the relative frequency [ω] = 0.2−600 is compared with the theoretical values calculated by Simpson's method on a Minsk-22M computer.
