Electric field of fluid in a nonuniform transverse magnetic field

I. G. Fiks

Abstract
The two-dimensional electric field distribution in a circular cross-section MHD channel is considered in a nonuniform magnetic field. The corresponding boundary problem is solved for an isotropic fluid with ionic conductivity. Both internal and external magnetic field sources are considered. It is shown that flow can be measured in large-diameter pipes by means of built-in, external-flow electromagnetic flow transmitters.
