Abstract
The oscillations of the electric field components in a flow of electrically conducting fluid in a square tube with two insulating and two highly conducting walls in a transverse magnetic field oriented diagonally to the tube were measured. It was found that with free boundary layers present in the flow an increase in the magnetic field did not lead to laminarization of the flow. On the contrary, the turbulent oscillations became more pronounced.
