Rotation of a cylinder in a conductive fluid in an axial magnetic field

Abstract
We consider the steady-state rotational motion of a long cylinder in a conductive medium as a result of imposed axial and radial electric fields. For laminar axially symmetric flow of the liquid past the cylinder, we obtain theoretical relations for calculating the basic characteristics of a device when it is used for converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. We determine the effect of the basic parameters on the efficiency of operation of the device.
