Magnetohydrodynamic wake of a body in a homogeneous flow in a longitudinal magnetic field

L. P. Gorbachev - N. V. Nikitin - E. P. Potanin

Abstract
The two-dimensional laminar magnetohydrodynamic wake at a large distance from the body producing the wake is investigated for the case in which its form can be disregarded and the motion can be characterized by an integral quantity. The electric currents are assumed to be shorted. The induced magnetic field is neglected. The solution of the linearized system of equations of magnetohydrodynamics is obtained in the approximation of the boundary-Iayer theory.
