Analysis of the characteristics of conduction-type magnetohydrodynamic pumps in similarity criteria

Abstract
The article discusses the basic relationships describing the operation of direct-current magnetohydrodynamic pumps, in a linear approximation and in terms of similarity criteria. A study is made of modelling conditions in the general case and with self-similarity with respect to the operating conditions of the excitation system. Equations are obtained describing the pressure and power characteristics of a pump in the nonlinear section of the magnetization curve and one of the conditions necessary for the existence of an extremum of the efficiency of a pump with a given configuration.
