Abstract
The article describes a unit with a liquid-metal loop, working on a eutectic alloy of indium, gallium, and tin, with a melting point of 10.6°C. The construction of the solenoid, which makes it possible to obtain magnetic fields with an induction up to 5 T in a cylindrical volume with a diameter of 150 mm and a length of 1700 mm, and also several special characteristics of the operation of the loop are of interest from the point of view of setting up a magnetohydrodynamic experiment.
