Abstract
To decrease the active length of high-pressure electromagnetic pumps, their working channels are frequently made in helical form. With small mass flow rates of the working body and large developed pressures, asynchronous magnetohydrodynamic generators with a helical channel obviously have definite advantages over straight-through converters. Therefore. determination of the magnitude of the hydraulic losses and of the distribution of the averaged velocities in the flow-through channels of helical magnetohydrodynamic machines is of undoubted interest.
