Diffraction of fast magnetosound waves by a plasma layer that is perturbed by a transmitted wave

Abstract
The diffraction of fast magnetosound waves by a plasma layer having a density which is dependent on time and one of the coordinates is considered. The investigation is carried out by generalizing the method of diffraction of light waves by an ultrasonic wave, which is well known in optics. Expressions are derived for small perturbations of the magnetic field and for the velocity and density of the plasma from the characteristics of the diffracted wave.
