Investigation of the flow of a tongue of liquid metal along an electromagnetic through with zero output

Yu. K. Krumin'

Abstract
Using the concepts of the dynamics of rectilinear motion, and taking account of electrodynamic and gravitational forces, the article describes the flow of a tongue of liquid metal along an electromagnetic trough, with a current in the inductor which is insufficient for the metal to reach the outlet end of the trough. A comparison with experimental data attests to the fact that such a representation can be taken as the basis of a further development of the theory of the motion of a metal in the channel of a trough.
