Effect of the velocity distribution on the readings of flow meters with a magnetic field intensity inversely proportional to the weighting function

L. M. Korsunskii

Abstract
The effect which the velocity distribution in an unperturbed axially symmetric stream has on the readings of electromagnetic flow meters is analyzed here for the case with the magnetic field intensity inversely proportional to the weighting function, and with the condition BW = const satisfied, but not rigorously. It is also shown that, when the Reynolds number changes during measurements of an unperturbed axially symmetric flow, the readings of instruments with technically feasible magnetic systems may be ambiguous within 1-3
