Calculation of a traveling magnetic field in a three-layered isotropic medium

G. D. Degtyareva - G. E. Shevchenko

Abstract
Based on the Maxwell equations we obtain the distribution of a traveling magnetic field in a three-layered medium, consisting of two linear media (air) and a nonlinear ferromagnetic isotropic medium. The ferromagnetic medium introduces distortion into the field distribution, causing a discontinuity on the surface of the medium and decreasing the value of the field intensity on the surface of a plane inductor, generating a traveling field, which must be taken into account in the selection of the regimes of technological MHD devices.
