Effects of conducting and electrodes in the flow in a rotationally symmetrical field

A. B. Kapusta - I. B. Nosovitskaya

Abstract
The one-dimensional motion of a conducting liquid in a cylindrical vessel is discussed for small magnetic Reynolds numbers, the motion being produced by an electromagnetic field having second-order rotational symmetry. A computer calculation is presented for the azimuthal velocities as found by successive approximation by Galerkin's method.
