Nonself-adjoint jet in the wake stream in a strong longitudinal magnetic field

N. V. Derendyaev

Abstract
A nonself-adjoint solution is obtained, in the MHD boundary-layer approximation, to the problem of an axially symmetric jet of a viscous, incompressible, and electrically conducting liquid in a strong magnetic field, in the wake stream at low values of the magnetic Reynolds number. It is shown that, at far distancees from the source, the solution approaches asymptotically a self-adjoint one. The effect of the wake stream on the jet field is also examined.
