Model calculations for an MHD experiment on stress relaxation in a turbulent medium

Regarding a turbulent medium as a Maxwellian fluid in which turbulent stress relaxation takes place, we propose an experiment to examine the influence of relaxation on the behavior of a system acted on by a given external perturbation. A model calculation is carried out for constant viscosity and relaxation time. The results of this calculation indicate that this effect may be observed, and make it possible to choose the basic parameters of the experimental apparatus.
