Abstract
It is shown that, in welding processes, a considerable role is played by the appearance of flows of an electrically conducting liquid with an interaction between the current and the intrinsic magnetic field. A study is made of the field of the pressure in a welding bath, and calculations are made of the equilibrium forms of the flux-liquid metal interface as a function of the position of the melting electrode and the current in the bath.
