Transformation of MHD waves at a vacuum boundary

Abstract
The propagation of MHD waves, excited by a moving point source of momentum, through the boundary between a uniform anisotropic cold plasma and a uniform isotropic medium is considered. The plasma is described by a linear system of MHD equations. Approximate expressions for the magnetic field in the isotropic medium are obtained and analyzed. The ratio of the velocity of the source to the Alfven velocity is taken as the small parameter in this problem.
