On the class of magnetic fields at which the free heat magnetohydrodynamic convection problems remain self-similar

Abstract
A general class of external magnetic fields at which the free heat magnetohydrodynamic convection problems concerning convection near a vertical semi-infinite plate and that caused by a linear and point heat source remain self-similar, has been determined. For the case of linear heat source at some values of the Prandtl number, simple analytical solutions of the nonlinear MHD boundary problem have been found. We performed some computations at several sets of parameters for some specific external maghetit fields. Tab. 2, fig. 1, refs 18.
