The motion of ferrosuspension in the field of a Iinear inductor

O. A. Glazov

Abstract
This theoretical study is concerned with the motion of suspension of ferromagnetic particles in a travelling magnetic field and is based on the system of equations which includes the equations of hydrodynamics taking into account internal rotation. Magnetization was determined using the orientation distribution function of magnetic moments of ferroparticles. We found the distribution function with the help of Fokker-Planck equation valid at arbitrary values of nonequilibrium parameters. The systems of equations was solved for a flat channel with zero boundary conditions on the wall, the solution being computed numerically. The computation results were used to study the effect of governing parameters on the magnetic fluid velocity. The requirements for the effectiveness of setting the magnetic fluid into motion have been formulated. Figs 3, refs 4.
