The formation of domains in flat layers of ferrcolloids

Abstract
A system of cylindrical clots of magnetic particles in a thin gap, filled with a ferrocolloid and located in a magnetic field perpendicular to its plane, has been considered. The domain characteristics were determined by using the conditions of their thermodynamical equilibrium with the surrounding medium. The mutual interaction of domains has been taken into account in the framework of the mean effective field model. It has been shown that at increasing external magnetic field the radii of the domains decrease, while their concentration grows. The conditions of domain flexural stability have been estimated.
