Intensification of stirring process in deelectric arc furnaces

Abstract
MHO processes in the baths of dc electric arc furnaces have been studied. We considered various cases of controlling electrically induced vortical flows in the melt in the furnace bath caused by nonaxisymmetry of the bottom electrodes and different distribution of their currents. The above studies aimed at providing the most complete stirring of the melt. Figs 6, refs 6.
