Perturbation of the external magnetic field by a Rayleigh wave propagating in a conducting elastic-dissipative half-space

S. Z. Dunin - V. V. Surkov

Abstract
The perturbations of magnetic field arising at the propagation of a Rayleigh surface wave in a conducting medium with non-elastic properties of the hereditary type have been studied. We were able to obtain a solution describing a disperse process in which magnetic perturbations become indistinct as well as decay with distance in the case of linear and point sources of the Rayleigh waves. The effect of disperse and dissipative properties of the medium on the relationship between acoustical and magnetic parameters has been analyzed. Figs 6, refs 5.
