Calculation of the force affecting a drop in a nonuniform flow of a current-carrying fluid

Abstract
Force affecting a small imiscible drop in an electrically induced vortical flow is calculated from first principles of magnetohydrodynamics. In the case under consideration a large-scale stirring of the fluid arises due to the vortex component of bulk elctro- magnetic forces. Forces affecting the drop from the undisturbed and disturbed flow caused, in its turn, by the presence of the drop are treated separately. The cases of a rigid particle and a gass buble are analyzed as well. Refs 6.
