Velocity distribution in the channels of MHD machines

Abstract
The results of studies of reverse flow suppression in the channels of MHD machines have been presented. Theoretical calculation and analysis of experimental results ar based on a ID turbulent model in which, along with the travelling field a constant magnetic field has been applied. It has been shown that an improvement of working characteristics of pumps and increase of MHD gate efficiency could be achieved in this way. The agreement between calculation and experimental results has been discussed. Figs 6, refs 4.
