Bibliometric analysis of the proceedings of the 5th international conference on magnetic fluids.

V. S. Lazarev

Abstract
The proceedings of international scientific conferences contain usually the most typical and valuable communications. Therefore, one of the approaches to the study of state and developement of science field could be the bibliometric studies of these proceedings in accordance with the features of relevant science field. The bibliographic references in the proccedings of the fifth international conference on magnetic fluids have been investigated bibliometrically. The main characteristics to be studied were as following: mean number of references in ordered and inititive papers; distributions of references according to their 'age' and the type of cited papers as well as six different characteristics of citetion of single authors. The principal results of the study are: confirmation of high interdisciplinary level of science field 'magnetic fluids'; averaged citation characteristics in high quality scientific papers obtained by present author; list of authors cited most of all who are considered to have largest contribution to the developement of the field.
