Free thermal MHD convection over linear and wall layer heat sources in a strong magnetic field

Abstract
Simple asymptotic expressions for the velocity and temperature fields in a free MHD convection over linear and wall heat sources at large values of the generalized MHD interaction parameter Z=Ha^{2}/(2\sqrt{Gr}) (where Ha and Gr are Hartmann and Grasshoff number, respectively) have been obtained using the component expansion method. The applied magnetic field B^{e}=B_{0}(l/x)^{2/5}e_{y} (the x - axis being directed vertically upwards, and the y - axis horizontally) was assumed in this form, since it ensures the self-similarity of the problem. For Zė 5 the calculations using the derived formulae agree quite well with the precise numerical results from calculations performed using the shooting method.
