Viscous ultrasound absorption mechanism in magnetic fluids

Abstract
A comparative analysis of theoretical studies of ultrasound absorption viscous mechanism in magneting fluids has been presented. Comparison be- tween experimental and theoretical results for kerosene-, water- and dodecan-based magnetic fluids has been made. An essential discrepancy be- tween theoretical frequency dependences of the absorption coefficient and the experimental ones has been demonstrated. Tabl. 1, figs. 2, refs 13.
