Abstract
The relaxation mechanisms related to the accretion of ferroparlides into aggregates and to the dissociation of aggregates in magnetic fluids subjected to a propagation of sound waves and their influence on the sound characteristics are investigated. It is shown that the anomalous velocity anisotropy and attenuation of sound in magnetic fluids, which depend on the divergence, anisotropy and the hysteresis of the relaxation period, should be observed in the vicinity of the microstructure transformation point.
