Abstract
The geometry of the motion through the core of a fast breeder reactor is modeled by a two-dimensional spatially periodic helical flow, in an infinitely long hexagonal pattern. Electromagnetic self-excitation is studied with respect to the influence of parameters such as the temperature of the fluid, its flow rate, and the permeability of the core. It is shown that no dynamo effect can be expected under the standard conditions of operation. Figs 5, Refs 11.
