On the instability quasi-laminar flows caused by a rotating magnetic field

Abstract
The instability of laminar and quasi-laminar flows caused by a rotating magnetic field in a cylindrical vessel in approximation of the "outer friction" has been studied. The simple formula to estimate friction stress of quasi-laminar and turbulent flows, which gives good agreement with experiments, has been obtained. It has been proposed the new methods of calculation of the curves of neutral stability based on integral power correlation. Tabl. 1, figs. 3, refs. 10.
