Abstract
Theoretical investigation of electrodynamic process of acceleration of molten metal drop, which is in pulse magnetic field with space inhomogeneity, has been carried out. Analytically tractable solutions and graphic dependencies for determination of the field parameters, depending on particle size and its material, so that to reach desired value of drop velocity have been obtained. Optimal values for pulse length of magnetic field corresponding to maximal drop velocity have been determined. Droplet acceleration under the action of single pulse as well as in the case of recurring pulses has been examined. The theoretical results may be used for development of a new pulse magnetic technique for disintegration or atomization of molten metal jet. Figs 6, refs 5.
